A Night with Amy Dillwyn + Live Q & A

She was one of Swansea's most famous historical women, Amy Dillwyn is often portrayed as a lesbian, cigar wielding industrialist with attitude.  But there’s so much more to her than meets the eye. Join us for a unique chance to explore the many facets of this extraordinary woman. An industrialist, writer and business woman ahead of her time, this performance piece will provide a real insight into her true character, accomplishments and  beliefs. This will be followed by a live Q & A session with Amy Dillwyn expert Kirsti Bohata.

Trawsnewid - Queer Life Drawing

Join Breifni and Luke for a relaxed, fun session of LGBTQ+ life drawing. You’ll be using different figure drawing techniques whilst chatting about LGBTQ+ bodies in museum spaces and how we can ‘queer’ our perspective on art and history. Our model for this evening will be striking a number of partially clothed poses to help your technique.

 

Trawsnewid - Queer Cabaret Night

Join the participants of National Museum Wales’ LGBTQ+ youth led project Trawsnewid for the premier of their Pride Cabaret! Expect film, spoken word, drag, puppetry and art performances, inspired by queer Welsh history.  All responding to the theme of transformations and the participant’s own personal experiences of being LGBTQ+ and living in Wales today.

Mini PRIDE - Happy & Proud Dance-Time

Join this fun session with dancer Craig and the WOW! dolls, the session includes getting dressed up, striking a pose and a PRIDE themed dance routine. Anyone can join in the session and it's suitable for ages 4+. It's a free, online event with no ticket required, just keep an eye on the website for the video and get involved.

Join Connie Orff from the Museum for some added storytime sparkle! This series of short stories will celebrate inclusivity with a positive pride-themed messages.
